NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT A Public Hearing of the Town of Ossining Zoning Board of Appeals will be held on Monday, August 16, 2010 at 8:00 p.m. in the Ossining Operations Center, 101 Route 9A, Ossining, New York, on the application of Bonnie Ellis and Diane Aguilera, 8 Gordon Avenue, Briarcliff Manor, Town of Ossining. The applicants are seeking renewal of an expired special permit for an accessory dwelling unit their residence pursuant to the requirements of Chapter 50 of the Code of the Town of Ossining, Accessory Dwelling Units in Single-Family Homes.

The property is located at 8 Gordon Avenue, Briarcliff Manor, New York and is identified on the Tax Map of the Town of Ossining as Section 90.19, Block 2, Lot 46 in the R-30 Zoning District.

All interested persons are invited to attend the Public Hearing and be heard on this matter.

The Zoning Board usually meets the first and/or third Monday of the month. However, the Board is convened only if there is an application on file two weeks prior to that date. Meetings are held at the Ossining Operations Center, 101 Route 9A, at 8:00 pm. Check the Town Calendar of Events or call our offices for meeting schedules.

Applications heard include:

  • Interpretation of Zoning Code or Zoning Map 
  • Variance with regard to permitted uses 
  • Variance with regard to area requirements for building lots 
    • Usually upon a rejection by the Building Inspector for a Building Permit, or from the Planning Board for a subdivision or a site plan, that does not meet the zoning requirements.
  • Special Permits as dictated by zoning district
