It is with deep regret that we report the sudden passing of our fellow Town colleague and Ossining native Cheryl Timmons who has been our Assessment Clerk since 1988. Her passing leaves a huge hole in our hearts and in the Town Assessment Office as Cheryl devoted her life to making sure that Ossining residents, especially our seniors, received the highest level of service that one could possibly give. Her smile and infectious laugh will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Wake service will be on Monday 2/27/23 from 5 PM to 8 PM at Clinton Funeral Home, 21 Parrot ST, Cold Springs, NY 10516.
The Funeral Service will take place on Tuesday 2/28/23 at 10 AM at Our Lady of Loretto, 24 Fair ST, Cold Springs, NY 10516.
In lieu of sending flowers, the family requests donations to the Animal Rescue Foundation (ARF) in Beacon, NY. Cheryl was well known for her love of animals and had a special place in her heart for ARF. More information about the foundation can be found here: https://www.arfbeacon.org/
**The Tax Receiver's and Assessor’s Office will open at 1 PM on Tuesday 2/28/23 as staff will be at the funeral service for Cheryl.**
Updates from the Supervisor’s Office
Please keep an eye on the weather early next week as winter weather may finally be arriving in our region.
Early this week, Town staff and Council Members attended the Annual Association of Towns Meeting in NYC. We were able to learn about many policy updates and grant opportunities for towns in New York State as well as opportunities to collaborate with other municipalities about issues common to all of us. It was also a great opportunity to meet up with our fellow municipal colleagues, many of which we have not seen since the COVID pandemic started.
Please note that it is Petition Season for candidates to get on the ballot for the 2023 Election Season. District leaders will be circulating throughout the community collecting signatures.

Happy Friday Everyone!
This Thursday officials from the Town and Village attended the Westchester Municipal Officials Association meeting. The speaker was from the Westchester County Emergency Management Services talking about the poor response time and increasing need for mutual aid as EMS systems become more strained for resources. A big shout out to OVAC and Chief Nick Franzozo for being recognized not only for their exemplary service but for setting an example of how an ambulance district could provide coverage as well as expanded services to their community. They were also thanked for covering many of the mutual aid calls throughout the County. There is now a new county system in place to help insure full coverage in all of Westchester.
This past Sunday, the Girl Scouts visited Town Hall. It was lots of fun to host our future leaders and teach them about democracy.
