Join us tomorrow Saturday June 10 from 10:00 AM onwards for a day filled with entertainment, exhibitors, artisans, culinary delights, and a featured Kids Zone. With over 5,000 attendees expected, this year's fair promises to be unforgettable. Admission is free, so gather your friends and family and come celebrate the vibrant spirit of our community at the 41st Annual Ossining Village Fair. See you there!

Bring your gloves and loppers/pruners for vine cutting and detangling. Let's preserve the beauty of our natural surroundings together!

 

Students on the EAC will have the opportunity to learn about meaningful environmental issues and explore town policies, such as the protection of our trees, wetlands and other natural resources.
The EAC meets monthly where student participation is encouraged. M.S. and H.S. members are given opportunities to create impactful, self-driven projects. All volunteer work counts towards community service hours.
If you are a 6th-10th grader from Anne M. Dorner Middle School or Ossining High School and are interested in joining the EAC, please submit a letter with your contact information, and reasons for wanting to join the committee to Mitzi Elkes, Town of Ossining EAC Chairperson, .

Join us for "A Juneteenth Story" as we dive into the struggles of a family grappling with the aftermath of emancipation and the lasting effects of slavery. Narrated by Ossining Village Historian, Joyce Sharrock-Cole, and performed by the Negro Ensemble of Westchester (N.E.W.) and Friends, this powerful reenactment, readings, and music will bring to life the Black experience and tell the history of Juneteenth. Don't miss this impactful event on Thursday, June 15th, at 7:00 P.M. in Budarz Theater. All are welcome to attend.

It was an honor to attend the Ossining and Briarcliff Memorial Day Ceremonies over the weekend.
Thank you Ossining Fire Department, Michael G O Connor and Briarcliff and Ossining VFW Posts for organizing these events.
The portion of the ceremony that means the most to me is reading of the names of all of the Service Members from our community who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.
Thank you to the Ossining Girl Scouts for the amazing wreaths you made, The Boy Scouts for helping with the reading of the names, the OHS Band for the musical accompaniments, OPD, OFD, OVAC, The Elks, OBCC, and all of the others who marched or helped
to make these event possible.

The Village of Ossining raised the Pride Flag yesterday at Market square if you missed that…
Come and show your support for the LGBTQ+ community at the Westchester County's 2023 LGBTQ+ Pride Flag Raising event. This event is organized by the Westchester County LGBTQ+ Advisory Board in collaboration with County Executive George Latimer and the Westchester County Board of Legislators. This event will take place on Sunday, June 4, 2023 at 11:30AM at the Michaelian Office Building located at 148 Martine Avenue, White Plains, N.Y. 10601

Saturday June 3, 2023 at Market Square the Ossining Juneteenth committee will be raising the Juneteenth flag as the start of a month long celebration of freedom.

Supervisor’s Weekly Update

This Weekend is about remembering those who gave all. Please make sure you take some time this holiday weekend to reflect on its true meaning.

This week the Village of Ossining dedicated a new pollinator garden in Richard Wishnie park to Sandy Galef in honor of her many years of leadership. Shoutout to Donna Sharett for picking a variety of native plants that will flower from early spring to late fall. 

 

We are thrilled to celebrate National EMS Week and extend our congratulations and gratitude to our incredible ambulance personnel. These dedicated men and women are the true heroes who selflessly serve our community every day. Their unwavering commitment, professionalism, and skilled care are an inspiration to us all. We are immensely grateful for their tireless efforts in answering the call during emergencies and providing life-saving assistance. To our ambulance crews, paramedics, EMTs, dispatchers, and support staff, we express our profound appreciation for their unwavering dedication and vital contributions. Thank you for your remarkable service and for making a positive difference in the lives of those in need.

A Con Edison contractor, Gianfia Corp., will be conducting a gas project in the area Brooke Club Drive from May 22 to August 2023. During this period, there may be temporary interruptions to your gas service, but rest assured, we will contact you personally to schedule any necessary downtime. The team will strictly adhere to COVID-19 safety guidelines, wearing face coverings and gloves while maintaining social distancing. For inquiries or concerns, please reach out to or . The paving is in progress on Tappan Terrace and Leawood Drive. Thank you to superintendent Pete Connolly, and the highway department for the great work that they do.

NECS invites you to their Spoken Word Event. They will have a poetry writing workshop for the first half hour, after which participants will be invited to present their poetry in an open mic fashion. If anyone wishes to present another art form, they would love that! Taking place on May 21 3-4:30 PM

 

Solo acoustic renditions of classic singer-songwriter, Americana, country and folk songs - all performed by Tom Schumacher, founder and lead singer/guitarist of Westchester’s own, The Barn Vultures. Come hang out at the bookstore, meet new friends, and enjoy the music! This event will take place on Saturday May 20 at 7 PM at the Hudson Valley Books for Humanity 

 

The Ossining Arts Council (OAC) and Westchester Collaborative Theater (WCT) will present The 2023 Living Art Event (LAE), featuring OAC artworks and WCT one-act plays inspired by them, at the WCT black box performance space in downtown Ossining from May 12-21.

 

 

Join the Hudson Valley Books for Humanity on Friday May 19  for a moving exploration of the environmental and human impacts of the Vietnam War. Celebrated author George Black will read from his new book, The Long Reckoning: A Story of War, Peace, and Redemption in Vietnam. And journalist (and Ossining resident) Rene Ebersole will join George for a candid conversation before taking questions from the audience. Event is free; books will be available for purchase and signing.

 

Visit the Jewel of Teatown: Wildflower Island is a jewel afloat in Teatown Lake. More than 200 native wildflowers, trees, and shrubs come into bloom throughout the season. Join experienced guides for a tour, providing an in-depth look at the unique ecology of this sanctuary. This Event will take place on Saturday May 20 from 10 - 11 AM

 

Join Early Childhood Art Educator and insect enthusiast Caroline Erb for a sweep net session in the meadows of Cliffdale Farm. What invertebrates will we find in the tall grass? This event will take place on Saturday May 20 10 am- 12pm  

 

Discover the joy of junk journaling with local mixed media artist and leader of the Northeast Etsy Artists Collective, Robin Larido. Join us for a creative journey as Robin shares her passion for junk journals and guides you through the process of creating your own. The U.S. The Environmental Protection Agency will hold a virtual public information meeting on Wednesday, May 24 at 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. ET to discuss the upcoming sampling and investigations in the Lower Hudson River. The 3BS, an Ossining based high-energy Blues band, will be performing live at Carmine's in Elmsford. This performance is part of the Blues Night Out in Westchester, sponsored by Carmine's and the Hudson Valley Blues Society. This event will take place on Friday May 19 at 6pm
